Most Valuable Player award should address player’s true team value

Recently, there has been much bickering over the results of the Major League Baseball American League MVP voting results. The winner of this award was Miguel Tejada, finishing far ahead of second place finisher Alex Rodriquez. Many people claim Rodriquez should have won the award because he put up better overall numbers during the regular season than Tejada did. I find this logic to be completely idiotic.

The world of Milwaukee sports does not appear to be looking too good at the moment. The Bucks failed to make the NBA playoffs after just missing the finals last year and the Brewers appear to be headed nowhere in a hurry with a 7-12 record as of Monday night.

Last week, as I am sure many of you know by now, Michael Jordan made an announcement that he will not play the rest of the season. The reason is due to the swelling in his right knee. Jordan injured the knee before the all-star game and elected to have surgery.

April will be a month plump full of multicultural events. The first of such events is the annual International Folk Fair, organized and sponsored by the International Experiences Club. In 1999 and last year, 2001, the Folk Fair was named the Best College Wide Event at an annual recognition banquet held by Student Senate.
