Women’s Tennis prepares for final meet

The Carroll University women’s tennis team finished the season going 2-3 in their last five matches. On Sept. 28, the Lady Pioneers traveled to Ripon College to take on the Red Hawks. Carroll travelled to Ripon College and came away with a 9-0 sweep.

The Carroll University Women’s Tennis team set themselves up for a conference playoff spot with a little help from the tiebreakers. Unfortunately that help never came and the team missed the Midwest Conference Team Tournament for the second straight year.

The Carroll University women’s tennis team wasted no time starting their season. They rolled over Wisconsin Lutheran College with a 9-0 victory in their home opener. Head Coach Al Pruefer credits the shutout to a very good preseason and the ability to start practicing five days earlier this year.

Do not be fooled, Carroll’s women’s tennis shall not be mocked. Although the season is not going as expected, their record to date is 2-8. Despite the statistics, coach Tatum Klingbeil does not want the students, faculty, or competitors to underestimate her players.
